Gold Coast favourites, Sunset City, enter 2020 with a new soulful pop release ‘Feels So Right’, out now on Central Station Records. Gaining attention around the country for their compelling lyrics and contemporary upbeat stylings, the new single bolsters the band as connoisseurs of edgy pop. We handed the reigns over to the trio to fill us in on 5 tracks that have inspired them along the way.
WANTED – One Republic
This song is super catchy and It just punches and leaves you wanting more, even though it only sits in the low 2 minute range, it leaves an impression and makes you want to play it from the top….genius move.
FIND AN ISLAND – Benee
Its super off the cuff and different, but ultra vibey and a real catchy hook. Benee has a unique voice and style and didn’t expect to have this one on repeat…but here we are, 5 plays in and still going back to the top.
NEVER ENOUGH – Six60
Insane voice, and no wonder he is getting lots of features at the moment! The tune has us dancing and singing along, it brings a Harry Styles-esque vibe but in a more indie flow. Love it. Also “Please Don’t Go” is a killer tune. Everything about Six60 is great!
SHOW YOU – Cxloe
What an awesome track. We’re huge fans of Cxloe, Shes really tearing up the industry at the moment with tracks like “Low Blow” too. Not to mention the producers Max and Sam Farrer, would love to work with all three of them at some point. A “Feature’ for Cxloe or hitting the stage with her would be insane!
I SAID HI – Amy Shark
Firstly, Amy Shark as an artist is doing such an incredible job and deserves huge praise, but, secondly, she’s from the same neck of the woods we’re from. That always gives you a bit of homegrown spirit. We’d also love to work with the producers of this track, Dann Hume & M Phases. There’s definitely something to be made there…
A few Honorable Mentions.
Drax Project – Any song from these guys…they’re incredibly talented and have such an awesome and unique sound. Not many can pull of a sick Sax drop…
G Flip – Drink To Much
Just pure radness!
